"The physician came in and he was just white as a sheet and said, I'm sorry to tell you this, but your daughter has malignant liver cancer. It's hepatoblastoma of the liver and it's stage three, stage four hepatoblastoma. And we've got a room ready for her. We have chemotherapy already. We have transfusions ready. She's going to need a liver transplant and you have to get up there immediately. And I had my purse and the clothes on my back and were whisked into the healthcare system. And that's when those moments just flushed through me that our life had forever changed."

In this episode of the She Lift Project podcast, Cynthia Kirkpatrick is thrilled to introduce Amy Post, a multifaceted individual with an extraordinary story. With over 20 years in medical sales, Amy has not only achieved remarkable success in her career but also navigated the challenging roles of being a wife, mother, author, podcaster, and nonprofit founder. Her journey is nothing short of awe-inspiring, and today’s live session with an audience promises to delve deep into her experiences, lessons, and the incredible impact she has had on those around her.

Amy’s story is a testament to resilience and adaptability. She began her career in veterinary sales, which sparked her passion for helping others and improving their businesses. Her transition to medical aesthetic sales brought her into contact with a diverse range of professionals, from plastic surgeons to cardiologists, highlighting her ability to thrive in various environments. Despite her professional success, Amy’s life took a dramatic turn when her daughter was diagnosed with malignant liver cancer. This life-altering event propelled Amy into the role of a fierce advocate, fighting not only for her daughter’s health but also for systemic changes within the healthcare system.

Throughout the episode, Amy shares her journey of navigating the healthcare system, the emotional toll of her daughter’s illness, and the transformative power of faith and community. Her book, “Out of the Gray, Into the Light,” captures these experiences, offering hope and guidance to others facing similar challenges. Amy’s advocacy extends beyond her personal story as she builds a community focused on support, self-care, and positive mindset. Her message is clear: by sharing our stories and standing up for ourselves and others, we can create ripples of change and find light even in the darkest times. This episode is a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit and the impact of living with purpose and compassion.

Jane Megown: How a House Fire Ignited Success

It’s not about me selling and, you know, me making money. It’s about you being satisfied and happy with what you want and what you need. And I’ve always had that kind of philosophy, and my dad had that, too. And people recognize you’re not in it for yourself, you’re in it for them. And you’re sincere, and it really goes a long way.

Sylvia Owens: Basketball & Boardrooms

Leadership is not about the leader. And I equate this back to basketball. When you have coach or coaches, they can’t go out on the court and shoot the ball and dribble the ball and pass the ball. But coaches have to be really good at getting work done through others. And so from a leadership perspective, that’s how I see it. As a leader, I have to be really good at getting work done through others.

Debi Corrie: Failures Fuel Future Success

“Gallup just got done with their survey for 2022. They found 25% better profitability in companies that have great employee cultures. Because when you have happy employees, happy employees make your customers happy. Happy employees want to invite other people to come work at their company. Happy employees want to share their ideas to make the company better. All of a sudden, you’ve created this culture where people want to contribute, and that’s the reason we do what we do.”

Shalia Ford: Transforming Trauma Into Triumph

“I think that what I’m able to do in the program is to create the brave space that women need to be vulnerable, to do the internal work that has to happen, to have great and deep, thoughtful, reflective conversations, to bring in a lot of other great women. But at the end of it, that she’s breaking out of that chrysalis and she’s got her wings.”

Sara Stock: Making a Bold Career Pivot

As lawyers, we’re expected to have all the answers and be right 1000% of the time…Actually, we are humans. We are going to make mistakes. It’s actually a beautiful opportunity, when we make a mistake, to show up for our clients in the right way, own those mistakes, and then fix them on our dime. It’s really that simple. You actually deepen a relationship.
